I just got a new tattoo that I regret. What can I do?
Laser treatment cannot be done on fresh tattoos. You must wait 3 months before treatments can be effective. The older the tattoo, the easier it will be to remove.
Can I remove part of my tattoo?
Yes. We can remove the unwanted work you're not happy with and block out the parts of the tattoo you want to keep.
How are tattoos removed?
Our Quanta Q-Switch laser is safe and effective on all skin types. Laser energy is directed into the tattoo area for a fraction of a second, harmlessly passing through the outer layer and only targeting the pigment in the tattoo. The laser fragmentises the ink, allowing your body to then absorb it and flush it away naturally.
Please be aware of some clinics and beauty therapies offering tattoo removal with IPL machines. These are not tattoo removal lasers and they result in burning or scarring. Removal creams and acid injection techniques also do not work.
What makes Laserpro Tattoo Removal better than the competition?
Laserpro Tattoo Removal offer high-quality tattoo removal. Our laser is designed to give you the best possible results for your money. With more than 23 years in the tattoo industry, we have the knowledge to meet your needs on different types of tattoos. We can distinguish the characteristics of your tattoo (type of ink, depth of ink and saturation) and can better predict the outcome of your treatment.
Clients coming to us expect expertise and quality, which comes from extensive training from industry leaders. Our expert technicians are experienced in tattoo fading and removal. We do not charge for consultations, which most clinics do. We are fully insured for your peace of mind. We are also government certified Laser Safety Officers.
How many treatments will I need?
Many factors determine the amount of treatments you will need. Each person is as unique as their tattoo. Homemade or very-lightly applied black and grey tattoos respond the best as the pigment breaks down easily. Fading of a tattoo for a coverup may require only one session.
The number of treatments depends on the amount of ink used, what colours were used, the depth of ink deposited, location, age and each person's respective health. Generally, the closer to your chest and neck your tattoo is located, the better the results. Feet and hands take longer as the circulatory blood flow is not as strong.
Is it safe?
Laser tattoo removal is very safe, with minimal risks. The chance of scarring is less than 5%, but increases for darker skin types, poor circulation, immune system deficiencies, take acne medication or having a history of keloids or raised scarring. Any pre-existing scarring will remain, though the laser will soothe some of it.
During our consultation process, we ask you some health-related questions. If we feel you in a high-risk category, we may decline doing the procedure. If you've had too much sun exposure, we will also decline until the area is free from suntan.
Will the tattoo completely disappear?
In many cases, yes. It is common to achieve 90% to 95% removal. However, with more than 100 brands of ink, it is difficult to predict the degree of removal that can be achieved.
How much will it cost?
Pricing starts at $100, upward to $450 for half sleeves. If you have multiple tattoos for removal, we will price by total size of all tattoos to be treated at once. Large tattoos—including full sleeves and back pieces—are broken up into separate sessions.
During the free consultation, we will quote you on how much per session. We also offer package deals—4 treatments paid upfront with a 20% discount. This discount lasts for as many treatments you need. We accept cash, Visa or MasterCard.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes. A consultation is required before any laser treatment. It involves discussing your health history, evaluating the tattoo, explaining the procedure, reviewing the risks and benefits, answering any questions you might have and establishing a price per treatment. You must be over 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or guardian with their consent signature for the treatment.
Is the process painful?
Yes. The laser emits light in very short flashes called pulses. The sensation is described as the snap of a rubber band. We recommend a topical numbing cream applied 90 minutes before the procedure along with regular use of ice packs. The good news is, treatments are very fast—a small tattoo might only take 20 seconds.
Do all colours disappear equally?
No. Black and grey tattoos respond the best and require less treatment. Red, orange and other warmer colours also respond well. Green, blue and purple are more challenging and may require further treatment. Some colours are mixed with white (titanium dioxide) to lighten them. These can be more stubborn as white is untreatable by any laser wavelength. Therefore, we can never guarantee complete removal.
What is the aftercare?
An instant whitening of the skin is visible directly after treatment. This is called clinical frosting. Moisture comes out of your skin to the surface, lasting only a short time. The area often swells and bruises and will feel tender—like a sunburn—for a few hours. Blistering is also quite common, especially when treating red ink. It is important to let the blisters absorb back into the skin without popping or scrapping them. The blisters will only last a few days with proper care. A full aftercare sheet will be given to you post-treatment.
