Removing Ink With Revolutionary Technology

Laser tattoo removal is an increasingly popular treatment that uses laser technology to remove unwanted tattoos. This procedure works by targeting the pigment in the tattoo and breaking it up into small fragments, which are then absorbed and eliminated by the body’s natural processes. At Laserpro Tattoo Removal in Shellharbour, we work with state-of-the-art technology—including the Quanta Q Plus Evo system—to help leave your skin clear, tight and revitalised.

It can take multiple treatments to completely remove a tattoo, depending on its size and colour, to find out more information book a consultation with us. Laser treatments generally cause minimal discomfort and have fewer risks than some other methods of removing tattoos. Our team will assess your individual case, determine how many treatments you may need, and provide advice on what results you can expect from treatment.

The Removal Process

Our tattoo removal service typically entails the following steps:

  1. Consultation: During the consultation, you will discuss your goals and expectations with our Shellharbour tattoo removal practitioners. They will examine your skin and evaluate the tattoo to determine the best course of action.
  2. Preparing for Treatment: Depending on the size of your tattoo, we recommend a topical numbing cream 1 hour prior to treatment to reduce discomfort. We have Speed Numb in stock.
  3. Performing the Treatment: Your practitioner will use a specialised laser device to emit pulses of light that break down ink particles in the tattoo, allowing them to be safely removed by your body's natural processes over time. Often times, multiple treatments may be necessary. We have a cooling machine at our practice which we use to support the removal process.
  4. Post-Treatment Care: Following the treatment, you will need to follow your practitioner's instructions for taking care of your skin and avoiding exposure to direct sunlight. Your practitioner will recommend applying ice packs periodically within the first 24 hours. Aloe Vera Gel is great to soothe any discomfort.
  5. Follow-Up Visits: You will likely need several follow-up visits with your practitioner in order to assess progress and determine if additional treatments are needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • IS IT SAFE?

Laser tattoo removal is very safe, with minimal risks. The chance of scarring is less than 5%, but increases for darker skin types, poor circulation, immune system deficiencies, clients who take acne medication or who have a history of keloids or raised scarring. Any pre-existing scarring can be treated with our fractional laser, making the skin nice and smooth.

During our consultation process, we ask you some health-related questions. If we feel you are in a high-risk category, we may decline doing the procedure. If you've had too much sun exposure, we will also decline until the area is free from suntan.

  • WILL THE TATTOO COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR?

In many cases, yes. It is common to achieve 90% to 95% removal. However, with more than 100 brands of ink, it is difficult to predict the degree of removal that can be achieved.

  • HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Pricing starts at $100, upward to $450 for half sleeves. If you have multiple tattoos for removal, we will price by total size of all tattoos to be treated at once. Large tattoos—including full sleeves and back pieces—are broken up into separate sessions.

During the free consultation, we will quote you on how much per session. We also offer package deals—four treatments paid upfront with a 20% discount. This discount lasts for as many treatments you need. We accept cash, Visa or MasterCard.

  • DO YOU OFFER CONSULTATIONS?

Yes. A consultation is required before any laser treatment. It involves discussing your health history, evaluating the tattoo, explaining the procedure, reviewing the risks and benefits, answering any questions you might have and establishing a price per treatment. You must be over 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or guardian with their consent signature for the treatment.
